Hi, guys! Today we want to speak about very important topic for us (videographers) –
logistics on wedding day. If you’d like to get a lot of professional and interesting wedding photos
and footage, you have to plan the process of the wedding shoot session before your “special
Logistics... Why is it so important?
Instead of one hundred words, we will tell you the real example of unsuccessful logistics on wedding day. Imagine a wedding shooting session in Downtown on July 01 st ? As you probably guessed, it is the Canada Day. So we spent three hours for transportation to the place, where the bride and groom had decided to have a shoot session. Is it logical? We don’t think so! To tell the truth, it’s not funny to spend the wedding day in traffic jam, eh!
Advanced logistics – smart decision for every couple! At MilkyWayFilms we created five rules, which would help you to visit all locations and be in time everywhere.
1. Define the timeframe on every location
In advance, think about time, especially how many hours or even minutes you are ready to spend on every location. Of course, you can do this only after writing a detailed plan for the whole wedding.
2. Determine the location for the photo session
According to the allocated time, consult with your photo/video crew and determine the number of places that you will have time to visit. We recommend you to choose the places, which is located next to each other. In that case, you won’t spend a lot of time for transportation.
3. Create an optimal timetable
When you decide where the wedding photo session will take place, start making the optimal route, note traffic jams and other force majeure situations. Your task is to plan everything that way you do not spend much time moving and eat the shooting time.
4. Think about posing
Beforehand surf the Internet and choose some poses for couples. Try to practice some of them in front of a mirror (do not laugh – it is very practical advice), it will help you to save time and get high-quality media, on which you will look like professional models.
5. Listen your videographer
Of course, it will be Your day, so you can do whatever you want. But we, as professionals, have more experience in organizing photo/video sessions, so can save you from committing a lot of mistakes.
We hope that our pieces of advice will be useful for you and will help you to organize not
only the wedding photo session, but the whole wedding day.
